Change of Heart
All week long we've been sharing with the children who come to our VBS about their need to have a "change of heart". The Bible tells us that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). It says that the "wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). We are told in Ephesians 2:1-2 that, "And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world...". I realize that nobody wants to be told that they are a sinner. Some people get angry when you try to share this with them. Others simply shrug you off and pretend not to care. However, the reality of the matter is that all people stand in need of a change of heart!
What about your heart? Has your heart been transformed by the love and grace of God? Have you accepted God's free gift of salvation by believing in Jesus and accepting his sacrifical work on the cross? If so, then how has God's presence in your life made a difference?
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." - John 3:16-17
